i love the kinks, and they are, in this girl's humble opinion, the best british band of the 60's.

that said, ray davies did have a tendency to re-write the same song in their early work. it is a good thing he got better at writing new melodies sans guitar riff.

if you were smart, you would go out and buy this album right away. this version of it, too. the three disc special collectors edition. because, if you were smart, you would know that you would not be disappointed because you would trust that i know what i am talking about and this is THE kinks album to own (there are about 8, though, that one should own; this one, you MUST).




so go out and buy this! if you live in minneapolis, the electric fetus has it for $27.99. ;)

i need to make a mix of cover songs. i have some ideas floating in my head. with the recent acquisition of cat power's covers album or whatever it is called, i have even more ideas. though, even in cover mixes, one can only use the artist once. that is the rule, after all.

harry and the potters, who might be the best band ever (and are for certain the best band about books ever) , are coming to minneapolis in one week. i am eagerly awaiting their arrival. minneapolis has been warned to be prepared for wizard rock. rock!
